The mystery of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy

22 November 1963. A dark chapter in the history of the United States was written on this day. Because on this day, the 35th President of the United States John Fitzgerald Kennedy (John F. Kennedy) was killed while participating in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was traveling in an open-top automobile with his wife Jacqueline Kennedy, Texas Governor John Connally and his wife Nellie Connally. At this time, the young president of the United States was shot dead by a man named Lee Harvey Oswald. Lee Harvey was a former Navy SEAL. Even years after his death, the mystery of Kennedy's assassination has not been solved and why he was killed is not known exactly. Many Americans believe that Kennedy's assassination was not the hand of a single person but a larger conspiracy. Lee Harvey was never brought to justice for the assassination of the President. As a result, nothing was known from his side because Lee Harvey was shot and killed by a Dallas nightclub owner named Ruby Jack while he was being taken to jail.

Death of John F. Kennedy

In late 1963, President John F. Kennedy and his political advisers were preparing to campaign for their next presidential election. Although he did not directly announce his candidacy, he was confident of being re-elected in the next election. As a result, he started traveling to different parts of the country for mass communication. As part of this, John F. Kennedy's wife came to Texas for a two-day visit.

On the second day of his visit to Texas, on Friday, November 22, President Kennedy accompanied his wife Jacqueline Kennedy and Governor John Connally and his wife in a 10-mile motorcade in an open-top car. The procession was heading toward Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas. There was a crowd on both sides of the road to welcome the President. Sitting in an open-top car, the President and First Lady waved to the sea of people on both sides of the parade route. Around 12:30 pm, when their motorcade was passing by a multi-story building called the Texas School Book Depository, the president was shot from the sixth floor window of that building. Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots at the President through the window of the building, two of which hit President Kennedy in the neck and head. Kennedy was pronounced dead 30 minutes later at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

Within an hour of shooting President John F. Kennedy, Lee Harvey shot and killed a police officer. Lee Harvey was arrested at a movie theater as a suspect 30 minutes after the officer was killed. Then on November 23, Lee Harvey was officially arrested for murdering the president and a police officer.
On November 24, Lee Harvey was brought to Dallas Police Headquarters to be transferred to a maximum security jail. Journalists were broadcasting the police activities live at this time. Suddenly, in front of police and reporters, Jack Ruby, the owner of a nightclub, shot Lee Harvey. Jack Ruby was immediately questioned and said that he shot Lee Harvey in revenge for the assassination of President Kennedy. But many did not believe his words. According to many, the assassination of Lee Harvey was part of a conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy.

The next president of the United States was sworn in just two hours after the death of President John F. Kennedy. Vice President Lyndon Johnson, who was just three cars behind President Kennedy's motorcade, was sworn in as the 36th President of the United States at 2:39 p.m. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by about 30 people, including the newly widowed Jacqueline Kennedy.

John F. Kennedy's Assassination Mystery

Although so many years have passed since the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the mystery of his assassination has not been revealed. Lee Harvey Oswald, an employee of the Texas School Book Depository, was arrested as the suspected killer, but Lee Harvey did not confess to the murder. Two days later Jack Ruby killed Lee Harvey. As a result, the controversy about the involvement of Lee Harvey in the Kennedy assassination also started.

If Lee Harvey did assassinate the President, why or at whose direction is a mystery because he too was assassinated before he could testify. It is also a mystery why night club owner Jack Rubie killed Lee Harvey. Many people did not believe him when he said that he killed the president to avenge his death. Because Lee Harvey's killer, Jack Ruby, had ties to the underworld mafia. As a result, many believe that Lee Harvey was killed to cover up the Kennedy assassination or to prevent the release of information about the involvement of another person in the assassination of the president.

Information released in 1970 revealed that the Kennedy administration, led by John F. Kennedy's brother, Attorney General Robert Kennedy, conducted multiple assassination attempts on Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro. The Kennedy administration is believed to have hired members of the Mafia to assassinate Fidel Castro. As a result, many believe that Kennedy killed Fidel Castro before he killed him, and that the mafia may have had a hand in the assassination.

Besides, ex-Marine sniper Lee Harvey Oswald was a believer in communist ideology. As a result, he left the Navy and went to Russia in 1959. Then in 1962 he returned to America a year before the assassination of President Kennedy. He distributed leaflets in support of Cuba in his hometown of New Orleans. Then in September 1963, Lee Harvey went to Mexico and went to the Cuban embassy there to try to get a visa to travel to Cuba. He also met a KGB officer in Mexico City. From these it is assumed that Cuba or the Soviet Union may be involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

However, in 1964, under the leadership of the then Chief Justice of the United States, the Warren Commission formed to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy reported that Lee Harvey or Jack Ruby were not part of any conspiracy in this assassination. Instead, Lee Harvey alone killed President Kennedy. However, their statement could not dampen the conspiracy theory.

Then in 1978 another commission of inquiry reported that the assassination of President John F. Kennedy involved more than one killer and an organized crime ring.

In addition, there is a popular theory of the assassination of President Kennedy, that there is a conspiracy of the radical right in this assassination and that the US intelligence agency CIA is involved. However, no information was found about the involvement of the CIA.

Recently, some secret documents related to the Kennedy assassination were released by the Donald Trump administration. Although some of the documents have not been released for security reasons, the released documents have revealed a number of issues related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. These include-

According to one document, Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassin of President Kennedy, was threatening to kill him and the FBI informed the police about it. The FBI chief's documents show that after they reported the death threats to Lee Harvey, the police chief assured him of his safety.

A document released by the CIA reveals that Lee Harvey visited Mexico City and met with a KGB officer. It is believed that the same KGB officer helped Lee Harvey assassinate the President.

Another document shows that an unidentified person called "Cambridge News", a newspaper in England, half an hour before the assassination of the president, warning of some big news in the United States.

However, these released documents have not yet fully resolved the mystery of John F. Kennedy's assassination. So now wait until the next document is released.
